UNC Multimedia Bootcamp The UNC Multimedia Bootcamp is an intensive, weeklong workshop designed for professional journalists who want to explore various forms of multimedia storytelling and how they work together to create a cohesive package. It is an opportunity to re-tool and gain skills needed to be competitive.

The 8th annual UNC Multimedia Bootcamp will be May 17-22. The workshop is limited to the first 20 paid registrants. For more information, please visit uncbootcamp.org or call 1.877.668.0674.

The workshop is sponsored by the Hussman School of Journalism and Media and all sessions are taught in state-of-the-art labs in the school's Carroll Hall on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

This year's program is under the direction of Don Wittekind, assistant professor in the school's visual-communication sequence. Before making the move to teaching, Wittekind spent 10 years as informational-graphics director at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, where he led the creation of the first newspaper-based multimedia graphics department. Wittekind’s work has been honored by the Newspaper Association of America, Editor & Publisher, the Online News Association and the SND.ies.  He also heads Swarm Interactive, which provides medical animation and web design as well as multimedia production for companies such as the Discovery Channel and National Geographic.
