His coverage has included political corruption, intelligence matters, national political candidates and counter-terrorism efforts. Along with two colleagues, Smith won the Pulitzer Prize in 2006 for coverage of the scandals surrounding lobbyist Jack Abramoff. |

Cairo and students take bronze in international infographics competitionAugust 20, 2009, 2:43 PMAssistant Professor Alberto Cairo and infographics students in the school won two bronze medals at Malofiej 17, an international infographics competition, in Pamplona, Spain. The awards were for work on the multimedia documentary projects “Atacama Stories” and “Chasing Crusoe.” “This is the most important infographics competition in the world,” said visual communication Professor Rich Beckman. “And our students are the only students in the world to place in the competition.” |
